JAMIE LEE CURTIS
The Original Scream Queen
Jamie Lee Curtis, born 22 November 1958 in Los Angeles, exploded onto screens as a fresh‑faced final girl in John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978) — a role that cemented her as horror royalty. Her early run through genre staples continued with The Fog (1980), Terror Train (1980) and Prom Night (1980), making the 1980s her decade of scream‑queen dominance.
After branching into mainstream comedy and drama with hits like Trading Places (1983) and A Fish Called Wanda (1988), Curtis returned to genre work with the long‑running Laurie Strode saga — from Halloween II (1981) to the modern trilogy (Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills (2021), Halloween Ends (2022)). She’s also popped into sci‑fi and supernatural fare, from Virus (1999) to Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), showing the range of a performer who can do more than just scream.
Today Curtis juggles acting, writing and advocacy, and still turns up at conventions and special screenings — a reminder that being chased on screen can turn into a legendary, decades‑long career.
