‘Welcome To Derry’ Slowly Moves Towards Season 2

Let’s get one thing straight: Pennywise doesn’t lose. He pauses.
The finale of It: Welcome to Derry (2025) might have wrapped season one in a neat, blood‑soaked bow, but the idea that HBO would leave Stephen King’s most poisonous town behind after a single outing was always fantasy. This wasn’t built as a limited story. It was built as a timeline; and timelines can always be rewound.
While HBO has yet to make a formal announcement, the evidence that season two is already stirring is hard to ignore. The most telling clue comes not from a press release, but from a recent Hollywood Reporter profile on Andy Muschietti. Buried inside a discussion about his rising stock, and his work on The Brave and the Bold, is a blunt statement: Welcome to Derry has been a hit, and a second season is now in the works, official renewal or not.
“The filmmaker now finds himself a hot commodity thanks to the muscular success of Welcome to Derry, HBO’s It series. A second season is now in the works, even if it has not been officially renewed.”
Say..whaaat! This is the VERY first news that we have that Muschietti is working on the next season, despite no “official” green light. Green lights, dead lights… whio cares… just as long as Pennywise is back on our screens soon, we’ll all be nice little boys and girls and make sure we eat our greens and not talk to strange clowns in sewers.
We await the official nod, but take this as gospel… Pennywise will be back in Avengers Doomsday…erm I mean Welcome to Derry!
