📗 SUMMARY

- Original set to release in 2022, it’s finally releasing.
Seems like the people over at Warner Bros. have been bitten, and dropped the ball on an importatant property. It’s been almost 2 years since we learnt that Gary Dauberman’s remake of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot had been dropped from it’s pre-halloween 2022 theaters release. Since then it’s been gravley quite over at the film studio, as fans were all asking where’s the damned movie?
Finaly, we have some good news (and some bad) as Warner’s are finally ready to launch the film this year. Howver (and here’s the bad news) it’s not hitting cinemas. Instead, it’s going to be launnched on MAX, thier streaming platform. This is apparently not beaucse of the quality fo the film, but…
“due to the fact that the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has created a growing need for Max content.”
Starring Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Pilou Asbaek, Alfre Woodard and William Sadler (who is totally playing Barlow) the new film looked to modernize KIng’s novel from 1975, and many King fans have been salavting at the idea of the very first movie adaption of the source material.
Salem’s Lot has ahd two TV mini series and King has followed up on the small little town in a short story called One for the Road and also in his Dark Tower series. It’s also worth mentioning a straight to film sequel to the 1979 mini series, titled Return to Salem’s Lot.
Whilst it’s dissapoiting to that we are not getting a thatrical release, I’m just thrilled that it’s not going to be buried or burned like Batgirl or Coyote vs. Acme.
Grab your garlic and steaks (and hawthorn, hang that stuff everywhere), Mr Barlow is heading to us in 2025.
