1990 Sega Ghostbusters Game Adds REAL Ghostbusters

Who ya gonna call? Well, how about The Real Ghostbusters?
It looks like the classic cartoon group will be joining some other familiar faces in a fan-made mod for SEGA’s much-loved 1990 video game adaptation of Ghostbusters (1984).
Called Ghostbusters: Special Edition, the project had previously garnered media attention when modders BillyTime!Games, Linkuei, and Danilo Dias fixed one of the game’s most glaring mistakes by adding Winston Zeddemore as a playable character.
The original game only offered three playable characters: Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, and Egon Spengler. The addition of Zeddemore was met with high praise from the Ghostbusters fan base.
Well, the team are doing it again, adding in a bunch of new characters.
According to Ghostbusters News, all four of The Real Ghostbusters will be modded into the game, along with Extreme Ghostbusters’ Kylie Griffin and a crossover character from the Crash Test Dummies series.
Whilst it might not be huge news for every fan of the franchise, anyone who has played the original game will understand the excitement of additional characters, especially when the game always felt a little lacking in variety.
There’s no news yet on when the new patch will be released, but when it does, we’ll be sure to let you know.
