Demonoid: Messenger of Death (1981)

The Mexican horror movie about a killer hand that can posses others, is filled with gore and oozing with atmosphere, but the practical effects are pretty grim in comparison. Making a severed hand scary, is a tough sell. Try as it might, Demonoids rubber hand fails to bring the fear, but it’s way of forcing itself onto the freshly made stump of its victims is pretty creepy.

Adams Family (1960 -1999)

Adams Family (1960 -1999) - 12 Creepy Severed Hands In Cinema -

Thing T. Thing, otherwise known as just Thing, is the hand servant of The Adams Family. This creepy hand was original conceived as part of a Thing in the basement. This creature was so horrendous to look at, that people could only stand to see its hand. That’s why, in the early 1960s TV series (and for effects reasons), Thing would appear from boxes around the house. In the 1991 film forward, special effects had evolved so that Thing could be portrayed as a completed disembodied limb. Whilst most of The Adams Family appear to be human, to a degree, Thing is the only supernatural creature and therefore, the most weird and creepiest thing about the films and TV show.
