📗 SUMMARY
- Stu Macher will return for Scream 7
- Matthew Lillard released news on Instagram
- Roman Bridger will also return in some capacity
Guess who’s coming back to Woodsboro? Well, he said he’d be right back…. That’s right, folks! Matthew Lillard is making his big return as Stu Macher in the much-anticipated Scream 7. Lillard announced this thrilling news on Instagram by quoting Stu’s unforgettable line from the original film: “My Mom and Dad are gonna be so mad at me!!” It seems that speculation about his comeback was right on the money, despite his character’s supposed demise under a heavy TV set courtesy of Sidney Prescott.
Joining Lillard in this legacy parade are franchise familiars like Neve Campbell as our all-time favourite scream queen, Sidney, and Courteney Cox back with her cutting-edge journalism as Gale Weathers. Also confirmed are Mason Gooding reprising Chad (Who has become the new Dewey thanks to two survivals from Ghostfaces blade), Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, while Joel McHale steps in as Sidney’s hubby, Mark Evans, alongside Scott Foley in a yet-to-be-disclosed role. Anyone else keeping their fingers crossed for some killer chaos?
Originally, Scream 7 was slated to feature Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, but script pages turned and new directions were taken post their exit. With Matthew donning Stu’s face again, it surely signifies a long-awaited trip down horror lane – bringing back those eerie feels we love even if it means raising characters from beyond. Lillard announced his return with this brilliant post below.

Adding intrigue to this nostalgia tour is also Scott Foley, previously known for Roman Bridger’s Ghostface stint in Scream 3. Could the sequel’s curiosity signal a plot propelled by these returning spectral men? Well, time will unmask those answers!
It’s worth noting that fans have long speculated that Stu Macher could still be alive, maybe even the real master mind behind everything! But Roman was definetly dead dead, having exited via a gun shot wound to the head. So what we may see here is flashbacks or even ghosts, kinda like Billy Loomis’ return in the last Scream film. We cant wait to find out!
Remember when Matthew scared us stiff while making us chuckle simultaneously? Expect that chilling cocktail again! The only question lingering now is how these tangled bloody threads weave into Scream’s latest screamfest.
Until more is revealed… Stay spooky!
