Doctor Strange 2 Art Mimics Raimi’s Evil Dead Poster
A new piece of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness art has seemingly embraced Director Sami Raimi’s past with a loving homage to The Evil Dead. Raimi has helmed the entire Evil Dead franchise starting way back in 1981 with The Evil Dead, followed by 1987’s Evil Dead II and 1992’s Army of Darkness. His last outing was Ash vs the Evil Dead which first aired in 2015. Raimi is now directing the follow up to the popular Marvel film Doctor Strange (2016).
Following Raimi’s stint as director of the original Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy, Marvel has welcomed him back into the fold to helm the Doctor Strange sequel, which is reportedly set to be the darkest and scariest MCU film yet. Raimi is certainly the perfect director to deliver on these promises, whilst sticking to the comic book film formula.
Embracing this loving match up of Raimi and Marvel, artist Alexey Kotolevskiy has created this new artwork that imagines the Red Witch in the style of the original Evil Dead Poster. The piece sees Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch being grabbed by the reanimated forces of the evil dead. Whilst we all start to fantasies about a Marvel/Evil Dead crossover; maybe in a Marvel Zombies styled alt universe, it’s clear that the Evil Dead has got the better of Maximoff, as she is pulled into hard cold ground.

Kotolevskiy Writes:
I still dream of seeing a film in the style of Sam Raimi, but it was not limited by Disney. Of course, it will surely be beautiful, fun and interesting … but just imagine this movie with a R rating … a dream
In the wake of the now Billion dollar profitable Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will continue the story of the multiverse and hopefully tie in events from multiverse-heavy shows like Loki and What If…?
