The 2022 Jordan Peele film Nope follows a man and his sister as they discover something sinister in the skies above their California horse ranch. I can’t state enough that it’s best to see Nope unprepared, so do beware of spoilers in the following post and video.
Nope is a grand and sweeping thriller that both celebrates the power of cinema and condemns its role in perpetuating violence and racism toward black communities. Using clever visuals, carfull pacing and genious sound design, the film takes you on a jounrey of both sight and sound.
