Bryan Cranston is Jack Torrance in Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl Commercial!
There’s nothing better than when commercial director moves away form the light and fluffy world or advertising and embraces the darkness within. This years super Bowl commercials have a little extra Horror in them, as Mountain Dew does just that, embracing the darkness with a little spoof of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. Yep, this is the commercial you didn’t know you needed, as Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston channels his best Jack Torrance impression for an advert that’s as refreshing as it is disturbing.
Cranston smashes his way through a door, wielding a familiar looking axe, as he delivers the the line.. “Here’s Mountain Dew Zero!”. A second advert plays upon the typewriter scene from the film, letting us know that New MTN DEW Zero Sugar is “As good as the original, maybe even better?”. Damn these are good!
