‘Zombieland 2’ is Official Set for 2019 Release
Great news Zombie fans, one of the better zombie films of the Noughties is getting a sequel. Zombieland 2 has finally been green lit, nearly a decade after the original release. The new film will be released in 2019, with a whole 10 year gap between movies.
Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been teasing a sequel for years now, but Deadline has now confirmed that film will indeed be coming out in 2019, with Reese and Wernick returning to writing duty. But there’s more continuity, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin have all signed on to reprise their roles, and even directed Ruben Fleischer will back in the big chair, making this a sequel worth getting excited about.
In Zombieland 2, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.
The new film will begin production in January 2019 and has a release date set for October of that year too, making Zombieland a awesome Halloween film to look forward too. With IT Chapter 2, 3 From Hell and World War Z 2 all planned for 2019, things are shaping up for Horror sequels next year. Be Excited!
