Do you want to play a game? Lions Gate Entertainment and Twisted Pictures certainly think your ready for one, as they announced this week that an eighth Saw film was in production.
We last visited Saw back in 2010 with Saw:3D, which ended with a twist that brought the series to a satisfying close. It has been rumored for many years that a new film was in the works, but finally this week, it was announced that Sorority Row and Piranha 3D screenwriters Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger would script a new sequel, under the foretelling name, Legacy. The series, about a Serial Killer named Jigsaw, spurned on the torture porn genre with its graphic content and gore galore, showing people caught in lavish traps that could teach them a lesson in life, if it does not kill them first.
James Wan, who directed the first ‘Saw’ film and writer/actor Leigh Whannell are serving as the executive producers for the eighth installment of the series, which has made $873,319,880 world wide. Not bad for a series that openly tortures and maims people in the name of entertainment.
So tell me, are you ready to get back in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
