Is Bradley Walsh Hosting Ghostwatch 2026? Channel 4’s Million Pound Shot

When Channel 4 announced Million Pound Shot, a prime-time quiz hosted by national favorite Bradley Walsh, it looked like standard Sunday night TV on paper. But ahead of its 9 pm broadcast on Sunday, 1 November 2026, fans across social media are convinced something far stranger is going on.
Channel 4 says three players will bring their own actual bank cards to the studio, risking their own hard-earned savings on trivia questions to earn "Bet Balls". These balls can then be cashed out or launched into a "Million Pound Shot Machine" for a £1 million jackpot. Bradley teased that it's "unlike anything we’ve seen on British TV before," promising a "huge secret twist" and a massive curveball.
The internet isn't buying it. Is this a real game show, or is Bradley Walsh fronting a massive TV hoax?
Why Viewers Smell a Rat

There are simply too many red flags for fans to treat this as a standard quiz. First off, UK broadcasting regulations around real-money gambling are notoriously strict, making the idea of contestants betting life savings on prime-time TV sound nearly impossible to get past regulators. Dropping a solitary, one-off special in a 9 pm Sunday slot is also a bizarre move for a traditional network quiz, which usually gets full series orders or daytime test runs.
The scheduling right after Halloween has viewers instantly drawing parallels to the BBC's notorious 1992 fake broadcast Ghostwatch, as well as Inside No. 9's infamous prank episode "Dead Line". To make things even more suspicious, the show was greenlit by Channel 4 boss Tim Hancock, the same mind behind Gregg Wallace: The British Miracle Meat, the satire that tricked thousands into believing the UK was harvesting human flesh.
The Host: A Clever Distraction?

Choosing Bradley Walsh is the biggest twist of all. He is the friendly, familiar face of wholesome family games like The Chase and Gladiators.
Putting someone so trustworthy at the center of an unsettling gamble makes total sense if it's satire. It tricks the audience into feeling safe right up until the moment the rug gets pulled.
What Could Actually Happen at 9 PM?

While online chatter hints at subtle anti-gambling satire or a sneaky psychological mind game, the real driver behind the hype is the belief that Channel 4 is executing a full-blown television prank in the grand tradition of Ghostwatch.
The parallels to the BBC's legendary 1992 Halloween broadcast are hard to ignore.
It also instantly brings to mind Inside No. 9’s infamous 2023 episode "3 by 3".
Whether Million Pound Shot turns out to be a genuine high-stakes game show or Channel 4’s attempt to pull off the ultimate modern TV hoax, viewers tuning in at 9 pm know one thing for certain: when a mainstream network promises a "curveball you won't see coming," anything can happen on live television.
