Warner Brothers Announces ‘IT’ Chapter 2!
Howdy Horror Fans. So, we all knew that it was going to happen, so it’s not mega news by any means, but a sequel to Stephen King’s IT has just been announced for a September 6th 2019 release date. Warner Bros dropped the date along with the unsurprising news that Andy Muschietti is back to direct. For anyone that stuck around to the end credits, this fact was pretty much set in stone, as the film hinted that the demonic clown was down, but not out.
The second half of the story, based on King’s epic Novel, will see the Looser Club return 30 years later to once again face IT. The novel see’s the adults tormented with truly horrific images, and mind games that truly test their courage. With Muschietti sticking close to the source material for the first part, it’s assured that he’ll do the same for the second. So, we expect to see witches, vampires and Paul Bunyan, alongside a baseball game from hell.
Muschietti has already revealed that he will be shooting extra scenes with the original cast, which will be included as flash-backs for the adults. He has also stated that he would like to explore some of Derry’s back stories too, such as the Black Spot fire, or the Kitchener Iron Works explosion.
These are all just rumours at the moment though, as the script is still being worked on with plans to shoot early next year. Do expect to hear some casting news soon though, as the films production picks up speed. More news as it comes in!
