Body Horror Art
Artist Fábio Magalhães created a series of disturbing and, quite frankly, stomach churning oil paintings, that depict mangled body parts and people suffocated in plastic bags. These hyperrealist paintings may seem a little sickening at first glance, but the Brazilian Artists actually has a very strong message behind his work: that of animal cruelty. He believes that we have become so accustomed to seeing meat cut up and sealed in plastic, that it's only when we are faced with our own bodies wrapped up on the shelves, that the shock value returns. It's a sickening sight, and one hard to stomach, but it comes with a message worth spreading.
That being said, it's still an amazing display of talent shown by the artists and his dark subject matter is definitely unique. You probably would not want to hang one of these on your wall, unless your a Ed Gein or Josef Mengele.
Check out the images below and don't forget to pop over to Fábio Magalhães website where you can see much more work, including people skinned alive and nails driven through body parts...it's all quite sick..we love it!
