Saw 11 Officially Confirmed with James Wan Returning to Produce

It's been a hot minute since we heard any news on on the next Saw film, but like Jigsaw himself, the franchise has risen from the grave once more to torture, maime and murder.

The Saw franchsie waa created by  Leigh Whannell and James Wan, based on a short film they produced way back in 2003. It has since gone on to become one of the most gruesome and enduring series. For fans, the franchise went of the rails a little after the main series finsihed with Saw 3D (2010). There were two attempts of rebooting the series with both Jigsaw (2017) and Spiral (2021) failing to push the series further. However an amazing script by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg, directed by Kevin Greutert emerged as Saw X (2023). The return of Tobin Bell really made this film special, following a more personal story for John Kramer (aka... Jigsaw).

Following a HUGE vacuum of news, nearly three years now, Lionsgate has officially announced that the next Saw movie will be directed by Mike P. Nelson, who is no stranger to horror having directed Wrong Turn (2021) and Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025). However, the franchsie has now changed hands being produced by Blumhouse Productions after they bought out Twisted Pictures' stake in the franchise recently. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps for the next installment, which has been penned by In the Shadow of the Moon duo Gregory Weidman & Geoff Tock. Also, Whannell and Wan are both producing, keeping the consitancy rolling onto the next chapter. 

Deadline report that Nelson is super excited about the film, saying:

"Being asked to play in this twisted sandbox with James is nothing short of a dream come true. Greg and Geoff and James have crafted such a wild script that brings the mystery of the original while exploring new insane bloody ideas that meld so well with the brutal moral compass of the franchise. Let the games begin!"

No news on cast at this point, and we don't really know if Bell will be back as Jigsaw, but like any good puzzle, this one is made up of many parts, and we are waiting eagerly for more peices to make up this bloody JIGAWS!!!
