Clive Barker’s ‘Books of Blood’ arrives on Hulu in October!

by | Aug 12, 2020

We finally have a official release date, as well as a poster reveal, for the upcoming film adaption of Clive Barker’s Book of Blood. The novels, which Barker published between 1984 and 1985, original consisted of six books and 30 stories. Many of these have already been adapted to the big screen, such as “Rawhead Rex” (1986); “The Forbidden” (filmed in 1992 as Candyman) and  “The Midnight Meat Train”, filmed in 2008. The new film will be an anthology styled affair focusing on three different stories.

Barker has a prolific career as a horror writer, but is perhaps most famous as the creator of the popular Hellraiser franchise. The new film will mark the first film adaption based on the writers work since the similar Book of Blood in 2009, another anthology film with a very similar name.

Hulu’s upcoming film adaptation of the horror anthology book series has been given an official release date of October 7th, where it will air on Hulu exclusively. The film, which was announced last year, is directed by Brannon Braga, with Seth MacFarlane acting as the executive producer. The cast includes Andy McQueen, Freda Foh Shen, Anna Friel, and Rafi Gavron.

If the film does well, their certainly would be plenty of options open for a sequel, thanks to the many stories available. As for which stories this anthology will cover, you’ll have to wait until October 8th.
