Watch Stephen King’s ‘Castle Rock’ Teaser
It seems that the world has gone Stephen King crazy. With ‘IT’, ‘Gerald’s Game’ and and ‘The Dark Tower’ all coming out within weeks of each other, all eyes are now on the Hulu exclusive TV show Castle Rock, a show based entirely on King’s characters. Heading for Hulu in 2018, the J.J. Abrams produced series will explore King’s Multiverse, which has seen many branches spreading this year. Many of KIng’s Novels are connected, and they all culminate in the Dark Tower series. Castle Rock is looking to explore this Multiverse on the small screen, and we have our very first look with a teaser trailer.
“Castle Rock is this town that [King] made famous in all these different books; and these two two writers, Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw, came up with this incredibly cool, terrifying, weird, funny idea of a series, new story, that takes place in this town,” Abrams recently told Jimmy Fallon. “And all of these characters from Stephen King’s books sort of are peripherally involved. We pitched it to Stephen King. He went nuts for it.”
The shows name comes from Stephen King’s fictional town of Castle Rock, which appears in many of Kings novels and short stories. The most notable of which are The body (Stand By Me) and Needful Things. It’s first appearance was in the 1979 novel “The Dead Zone”, and it’s most recent in 2013 with “Doctor Sleep”, King’s sequel to The Shining, and in 2014 with “Revival”.
With an impressive cast including Bill Skarsgård, André Holland and Sissy Spacek, the show is slowing turning out to be something very special indeed. We will find out next year.
