Terminator 3’s Nick Stahl Would Love to Return as John Connor!
The third film in the Terminator series came out in 2003, called Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, with Arnold Schwarzenegger returning as a T-800, while Nick Stahl played the future leader of the Resistance, John Connor.
In James Cameron’s original The Terminator, the story saw future rebel Kyle Reese traveling to the past to rescue Sarah Connor from an assassin cyborg, called a terminator, sent by Skynet to prevent the birth of John Connor. Whilst John was a huge part of the original film’s plot, he did not appear until Terminator 2: Judgement Day in 1991, where he was played by Furlong. Michael Edwards, Christian Bale and Jason Clarke also took on the role of John in Terminator sequels, but it seems like Stahl is keen to give it another shot.
Stahl recently chatted with Comicbook to chat about his upcoming thriller Hunter Hunter. When asked if he had heard anything about a new Terminator film and would he be interested in returning, he said…
No. Short answer. I haven’t heard anything about a new Terminator movie. I don’t know, man. I did the one film and I was there, so, yeah. Wish I had a more exciting answer for you, but that’s it. I would jump at the opportunity. I love those movies, I grew up watching Terminator movies and was just thrilled to be a part of that role in that franchise. So, yeah, that would be something I would love to do.
It’s highly unlikely that it will ever happen, but it’s great to hear that Stahl would be keen to reprise his role. If there is one thing we should have learned about film franchise, it’s to always expect the unexpected.
