Disney+ Confirm Willow TV Series Sequel
The film was set in an age of swords, sorcery, myths and monsters, and catapulted Warwick Davis into mega-star status. Warwick starred as reluctant half-ling forced into playing a critical role in protecting a special infant named Elora Danan from an evil queen. It was an amazing charming film, filled with plenty of action, romance and terrible creatures.
Warwick enthused…
“So many fans have asked me over the years if Willow will make a return and now I’m thrilled to tell them that he will indeed. Many have told me they grew up with Willow and that the film has influenced how they view heroism in our own world. If Willow Ufgood can represent the heroic potential in all of us, then he is a character I am extremely honored to reprise.”
The “Willow” series comes from Lucasfilm, subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios, and represents the company’s first non-“Star Wars” venture since 2015. This is great news, as Disney used Star Wars as launching point for it’s further ventures. Now with it’s own streaming service, it’s looking further afield at titles to add to it’s program list.
What we have also learnt is that Ron Howard be returning for the show as executive producer. Joining him will be Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) who as well as producing, will also direct the pilot episode. Duo Jonathan Kasdan (Solo) and Wendy Mericle (Arrow) will serve as the series’ showrunners.
