Danny Boyle Says 28 Years Later 3 ‘Will Get Made’

Hello...
Never has on word wrung out louder and more foreboding than Cillian Muprhys first (and last) words in Danny Boyles ground breaking zombie horror 28 Days Later. And it seems like more infected are coming.
Variety caught up with Boyle at the Zurich Film festival, where he updated fans on the third part of his collab with Alex Garland. Whilst the 2025 film 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, was a critical success (I mean blimey... what film!), it was a box-offcie bomb, mostly due to bloody awful marketing that never really explained that the film was a SEQUEL to 28 Years later that came out earlier in the same year.
Boyle was very positive about the film and said
"28 Years 3, or whatever it ends up being called, will get made because people keep asking about it... Quite when I’m not sure, but there’s a script – a very good script by Alex Garland"
He then reflected on one of the key selling points of the new trilogy, 28 Days later star Cillian, who only ended up with a small cameo.
"It will have a lot of Cillian Murphy in it...whether he’ll take his kit off anymore, that I don’t know. He’s got the Oscar now."
The film series follows Great Britain following a devesating infection, called Rage, that turns people into rage filled zombie-esq maniacs. 28 Years Later continues the story with brand new characters and compelling story lines set through out the devesated countryside of Northumberland and North Yorkshire
Fans can be sure that if Boyle wants to wrap up the trilogy, and with Oscar winning Murphy onboard, studios will leap at the chance.
