Aliens Covenant Claws
Last year Fox began developing a new Alien with District 9, Elysium and Chappie director Neill Blomkamp, after he started showing off designs form his Aliens sequel concept. the studio suddenly pulled the project in favor of Ridley Scott‘s (unwanted by fans) Prometheus sequel. Well it would seem that production for “Aliens Covenant” is well underway with the official Aliens twitter page releasing this little tit-bit, showing off a familiar looking calw.

Scott has promised fans that this film WILL include familiar faces such as the Face Hugger and Aliens. Whilst Speaking with The Wrap, he said…
They’re going to go to the planet where the engineers came from, and comes across the evolving creature that they had made. Why did they make it? Why would they make such a terrifying beast? It felt bio-mechanoid, it felt like a weapon. And so the movie will explain that, and reintroduce the alien back into it. There was always this discussion: Is Alien, the character, the beast, played out or not? We’ll have them all: egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy. I think maybe we can go another round or two.
Don’t get your hopes up too much though, as Scott burnt us so badly with Prometheus, this could end up being just as bad, or even worse. The good news is that Blomkamp’s direct sequel to Aliens, is still go, with Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn reprising their roles.
Alien: Covenant will be out on August 4 next year.
