Andres Muschietti’s film adaptation of Stephen King’s “IT” is about to get its first audience viewing via ta est screening next week. The new broke via Movieweb that the latest adaptation of Kings novel , is getting an early test screen in Burbank, California. This can only mean that first cut of the film is done, which is pretty quick consider that filming isn’t even due out until september 2017.

A company by the name of 1 iota posted details of screening on their website.

We are looking for 18-49 year olds to attend a special advance screening of the new film “It”.

Based on Stephen King’s best-selling novel. A group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

This film will likely be rated R. 

The film wrapped in September with the post-production process seemingly having gone smooth enough for a cut to be ready for a screening. This is by no means unusual to have a test screening, film companies do this all the time to judge the audience reaction to a film, but it’s unusual to have a cut ready so early. 

It is possible, if the screening holds up, that the film is bumped to an earlier release, but we will have to wait to see. Don’t expect to get any early reviews though, as participants in the screening will most probably be signing a privacy waiver.
