Maika Monroe Screams Out for New ‘Victorian Psycho’ Poster

Maika Monroe is cementing her status as a modern Scream Queen... literally... with the release of a striking new poster for Victorian Psycho. Featuring Monroe front and center and screaming into the void, the promotional art sets the stage for a vicious, blood-soaked affair directed by Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary).

Adapted directly from Virginia Feito's twisted bestselling novel, the film follows an eccentric young governess who arrives at a remote gothic manor in 1858 England—only to reveal she is not quite what she seems. Monroe leads a stellar ensemble cast that also features Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho) and Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter).

The film has navigated a few bumps on its path to the screen. Production originally kicked off with Margaret Qualley attached to star before she dropped out, paving the way for Monroe to step into the lead role. Additionally, distributors have given the project a little more time in the oven, bumping its initial September release window back to November

For fans of fun movie trivia, the production boasts an wonderfully uncomfortable behind-the-scenes anecdote, and i'll close this up with this little nugget...

In standard filmmaking practice, actors usually avoid actually eating food during dinner scenes; shooting multiple takes across hours means they typically just push food around their plates to avoid getting overly full. However, Jason Isaacs threw caution to the wind for Victorian Psycho, committing fully by eating every single sausage roll during a tense dinner sequence. Consuming an unusually massive quantity on camera was intended to heighten the scene's already deeply uncomfortable and unsettling atmosphere. Now that is dedication.

Victorian Psycho hits theaters and streaming on November 13th 2026. Check out the poster and trailer below!
