Alien (1979) was a groundbreaking film that turned the slasher genre on it's head in zero-g. Whilst the films script read like Michael Myers in space, the film creative and technical achivements turned into into a billion pound franchise. When the film literally BURST onto our screens at the end of the 70's, many film studios caught a case of the green eye'd chestburster and tried thier best to capitalise on the films success.
