The Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror XXXI” Delayed (By Two Weeks)
The show usually airs a couple of weeks in advance, and this year it was due to drop on October 18th. But it was announced on the day of release, that the episode will now air on November 1st. This delay is not COVID related, but apparently sports, as National League Championship Series runs late.
It was confirmed earlier this month that season 31 of The Simpsons would arrive on Disney+ in November, now that Disney own all of FOX’s back catalogue. The 22-episode season is set to premiere on November 6th on the streaming platform, joining over 600 episodes of The Simpsons already available on the streaming service.
This year’s annual terror-themed trilogy includes a frightening look at the 2020 election, parodies of Pixar and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and a ninth birthday Lisa just can’t get over.

This season of the Simpsons also marks a major shake up for the cast, with Hank Azaria’s decision to leave. Having voiced Carl and Apu since the show started, he was one of the original cast line-ups. Backlash caused Azaria to step down from voicing Apu. With the studios decision that white actors would no longer voice non-white characters, Azaria left the show. Carl will now be voiced by Better Things actor 6 and Apu will be no longer be voiced.
