Neve Campbell will Return for New Scream
Scream is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of the filmmaking group Radio Silence, and they have recently announced a number of classic cast member returning for the new film, but the question on everyone’s bloody lips was about Sidney Prescott. Would the franchise protagonist return? The two directors finally answered that last week.
“We’re pinching ourselves! It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true. It just wouldn’t be a Scream movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.”
Neve took to Instagram to celebrate the breaking news
With fans now set for an epic return to Woodsboro, Neve had this to say about the role.
“After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”

Whilst these casting announcement are fun, the biggest question now turns to the careful language being used to describe the new film. The word “relaunch” is being thrown around, but what it really boils down too is a soft reboot, much Like Halloween, Saw and Candyman, it looks like Scream is using the original source as a springboard to break into a new series. Where the new Scream will take us is anyone’s guess right now, but one thing is for sure, that it will certainly see the return of Ghostface to the streets of Woodsboro.
