Hideo Kojima to Make the “Scariest Horror Game”

by | Nov 26, 2019

I’m sure it’s been a turbulent few years for Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, after his split from Konami left him without a studio or project. He quickly bounced back creating his own studio from the ground up and releasing his first game this month, Death Stranding. There is no doubt that the new game had it’s foundations built from the relationship with film director Guillermo del Toro and actor Norman Reedus, after the Silent Hills project fell apart in 2015. Hideo Kojima was actively developing the game when he left Konami, and with his departure, the project was canned. But he took del Toro and Reedus with him, and the rest is now history.

With Death Stranding getting critical acclaim, all eyes are on him for his next big venture, and it looks like he has already got something up his sleeve. With Silent Hills still fresh in his mind, Kojima is now looking to make the “Scariest Horror Game”, and he’s already delving into his film collection for inspiration.

Whilst this is NOT a confirmation of his next project, it should instill us Horror Fans with excitement, that Kojima still wants to make one of the scariest games around. And for anyone that managed to play the Silent Hills teaser, PT, before it was pulled from stores, you’ll know that Kojima could really pull this out of the bag!

Death Stranding is currently out now on PlayStation 4, with a PC release in the Summer of 2020. It’s a pretty cool game too.
