Wesley Snipes Teases More Blade
It’s been a hot topic of recently, considering the height of success Marvel are having with it’s shared uinverse, if Marvel would ever consider bringing Wesley Snipes Blade into the fold. Looking at how carefully Marvel plan their franchise, it’s very unlikely that Snipes’ Blade would pop up, but the action star seems to think that it could happen. He once katan sliced himself his very own pace of Marvel gold, but has the star seen his last pair of vampire fangs?
We have not seen a blade movie since the under performing Blade: Trinity‘s release back in 2004, and then snipes took a little time out from acting from 2010 to 2013, and by the time he returned, he did not have the pulling power he once had. With odd stacked against the once meg-hot star, it’s seems like his Blade days are over, but Snipes feels very differently.
Speaking with Vice, Snipes still feels like he’s the only man to play Blade.
“There are a lot of conversations going around right now and we’re very blessed to have the enthusiasm and interest in something coming from that world again. We’ve created two projects that fit perfectly into this world and, when people see them, I think they’re only going to have a problem with deciding which one they love the most.
All the main execs [at Marvel] and my team, we’ve been discussing for the past two years. Everyone’s enthusiastic about it, everybody gets it. But they got a business to run and they gotta square the things that they gotta figure out before they can get to it, I guess. In the meantime, we got a business to run and our own slate of things to do so…
But the next time you see something in [the Blade universe], mark my words: what we did before is child’s play compared to what we can do now.”
What this means is anyone’s guess, as it’s all rather vague. Has Snipes been chatting with Marvel? Are they interesting in slotting in his character into their shared universe? I guess only time will tell. Let us know in the comments below if you’d love to see snipes butting heads with Thor and Hulk, or should Snipes’ Blade rest in piece?
