The Joker, the clown prince of crime, the harlequin of hate, has been the biggest thorn in the side of the Batman for nearly 80 years. From his origins in DC comics to his appearance in Batman movies, the history of the Joker is one of destruction and debauchery. Batman can’t seem to get the job done, even in the face of thousands of Joker kills, but despite his inaction, throughout Joker history, the killer clown has experienced his fair share of Joker deaths. From the first Joker origin in the Batman comics, throughout the evolution of the Joker in movies and TV, right up to the new Joker movie 2019 starring Joaquin Phoenix Joker, the clown prince of crime has been killed dozens of times throughout Joker evolution.
When it comes to Joker in WB movies, we’ve had plenty of amazing examples, from Jack Nicholson to the iconic Heath Ledger joker from the Dark Knight, all the way to Jared Leto Joker, better known as the better half of Harley Quinn, and the upcoming Joaquin Phoenix Joker, who we’re slowly starting to learn more about through every Joker teaser, Joker trailer, clip and scene. Of course, the small screen boasted perhaps the greatest Joker of them all, when the DCAU Joker was voiced by the legendary Mark Hamill. Joker, the same version, also appeared in the Arkham games, Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight, along with several DC animated movies. We can’t quite seem to let any Joker go, despite the terror they thrive on. Joker 2019 is a radical new take on the character, but no matter how the Joker 2019 movie comes out, at least we’ll know How to Kill the Joker.
