Horror Books Have Lost Their Identity

Horror Books Have Lost Their Identity

by | Apr 28, 2020

It’s a little sad to know that digital shopping has permanently damaged the way in which we read books. Book stores are becoming less and less prevalent in our high-streets and lot of this is due to the growing popularity of digital sales. I have heard people say that the horror genre is slowly dying out on the book shelves, that the small space shop reserved for the hold-in-your-hand tome is filling up with more pop-cultural genres. But maybe it hasn’t. Maybe it’s just lost it’s identity. Youtube channel In Praise of Shadows looks at the changing face of horror novels and explores the decline (and part revival) of their darker illustrated covers. Enjoy…

“Hope you liked this one, it was a little bit different than normal but I thought it would be fun to try something like this. I have always been a big reader, and this has been on my mind for a little while so I wanted to make something to talk about it.”
