Zombie Returns to ‘The Devil’s Rejects’
Rob Zombie has a large number of films under his belt, but undeniable his finest film is The Devil’s Rejects. A direct sequel to his debuted directorial film House of 1000 Corpses, ‘Rejects’ had a much more cinematic feel than its arthouse styled original. What made bot these films so good, was it’s frank approach to violence. Both movies represented its horrific violence and murder as a casually fun thing for the characters to be doing, something we had never seen before.
The interesting news today is that Rob Zombie is movie ahead with another sequel. Our buddies over at Bloody Disgusting dropped the news, though there’s no official word from Zombie just yet. He has indeed been talking about a sequel for years. The fact that ‘Rejects’ killed almost all of the Firefly family in a showdown of bullets and cars, is probably the reason why it has not happened yet.
Driving down the road in hail of bullets and blood, ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ saw Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), Otis (Bill Moseley) and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie) run their car directly into a police barricade, making a sequel pretty tricky. Although fans would love to see the gang back on the big screen, would they really except another ‘Halloween 2’ styled “they did not die” scenario?
