Star Wars actress, Carrie Fisher dies, aged 60
Some devastating news for the last week of 2016 as Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher passes away. The assertive and witty Hollywood star who became a galactic princess in Star Wars passed away on tuesday after a heart attack on a plane. She became ill on the flight from London to Los Angeles on Friday and was rushed to hospital where she spent the weekend in intensive care. Sadly the news today of her passing will come as a big shock to everyone.
Fisher’s death was confirmed to in a statement released to Entertainment Weekly and PEOPLE by family spokesperson Simon Halls on behalf her family.
“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning, She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
Fisher was in the Uk promoting her new book, The Princess Diarist, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, she starred on several Uk based shows including The Graham Norton Show that aired on December 9.

I’m sure we’ll hear from those that started with Carrie within the next few days, but until then, the world is devastated to lose such a wonderful person. 2016 seems to have been the worst year for celebrity deaths, losing so many faces from film, music and entertainment.
