The Making of John Carpenter’s Vampires
“When you were stabbing that vampire in there, did you get a little wood?”
John Carpenter’s Vampires is certainly an underrated movie. Whilst it suffers from bad pacing, a predictable script and more scene chewing than than a daytime tv drama, the film does have many good qualities. I love the hunters and their unorthodox way of hunting. I like the idea that the catholic church is responsible for the vampires, and are trying to resolve their big mistake. I also really love James Woods turn as Jack Crow, the seedy anti-hero leader of the group.
With the film in mind, I delved deep into the underworld and managed to find this old video which looks at the making of Vampires, with cast interviews and behind the scenes video. Definitely worth a look for any fan of the series.
